Vasque Breeze XCR Hiking Boot - Women's
pretty good boot
I've worn these boots several times so far. They’ve been worn winter camping, hiking 6+ hours twice, once in off-and-on rain. I have fairly wide and sensitive feet. Often, shoes will not be comfortable. These were from the beginning. It took me a few times to break them in. I have a narrow, somewhat bony ankle and the back of the boot rubbed the back of my ankle a bit at first, nothing that moleskin and tying the shoelace one notch lower couldn’t remedy. Considering each time I’ve worn them I’ve really put them to the test, I’d say they’ve been great. After hiking 7 hrs. or so in off-and-on rain, crossing muddy & wet areas, I expected my feet to be wet. My socks were bone dry. I was very pleased. When I wore them camping, they stayed warm until nightfall. I could then feel a slight draft on the top parts of my feet. I didn’t mind, it was probably about 30° and dropping at that point. I’d rather have a shoe that can breathe a bit when I’m hiking. They are flexible enough to be comfortable. I’ve only worn them once with a heavy backpack, but it wasn’t for much more than an hour. They seemed supportive enough though I can’t comment on what a longer backpacking hike might feel like. I would recommend them. My fussy feet were happy and they met my expectations.
Comfortable and Dry
I've had these boots for 3 years and have put many miles on them from pouring rain to dry hot days. I've even enjoyed them winter hiking and they are the boots I use to snowshoe. They are an all around great boot for all conditions. I use them for day hikes and backpacking trips and find them to be extremely comfortable, and amazingly dry. I have completely submerged my foot into streams and puddles and have dry feet. I've never had a blister or a hot spot, and I backpack at about 15 miles per day. These have a roomy toe box, and fit my wide foot well.
