The North Face Tundra Sleeping Bag: -20 Degree Polarguard
Hardly -20. More like 20+, maybe
I work for a wilderness therapy program, so I'm out in the backcountry in Utah for a week at a time and need something exceptional. I bought this bag before my training in mid-March. It snowed heavily a few nights and I was shivering and miserably all night long, even with thermals and thick fleece pants and a jacket and two pairs of wool socks and gloves. The wind was still bitterly blowing through my bag (it stayed fairly dry though, at least) Now that it is moving into summer and the night time temperatures are around 30-45 degrees, the bag is just right. It's a comfortable fit and all that, but it's positively NOT a -20 bag. One of my coworkers has the same bag and concurs: The North Face needs to reconsider this one because it's false advertising!
great bag for the money
I bought this bag some time ago and I have to say it kicks @ss! I used it in the Adirondacks and New Hampshire in extreme cold and was damn cozy. I am very prone to getting cold (Big Wussy) as far as cold is concerned. I love this bag! Buy it, you won't regret it.
Awesome
