The North Face Hightail 900 Sleeping Bag: 15 Degree Down
Brand : The North FaceItem : TNF1356
The North Face Hightail 900 15-Degree Down Sleeping Bag culminates The North Face's quest for the lightest, warmest down, and down-proof sleeping bag technology. Incredibly comfortable, ultralight, and toasty warm, the Hightail is part of The North Face's backpacking Flight Series. The North Face starts with ultralight 15 denier ripstop HelioLite ripstop nylon (one of the lightest downproof materials in existence) and fills it with 900 fill Eastern European goose down—the lightest, most efficient down on the market. The 'rippled' baffle-construction evenly distributes the Hightail's 900-fill down for maximum warmth and prevents the insulation from shifting side to side, creating cold spots. The one-third-length zipper features a draft tube to seal in warm air, as well as a no-snag stiffener in the zipper column. You'll be hard-pressed to find a warmer, lighter, more comfortable 15-degree sleeping bag. The Hightail 900 includes a nylon/mesh storage bag for storing around the house and a stuff sack for backpacking. *Not Available for Shipment to Canada.

The North Face Hightail 900 Sleeping Bag: 15 Degree Down
it's great but...
I have last year’s model and use it a lot—every day for three mounts. It’ll keep you warm, the sleep quality is great, it feels very soft. I have the L size and it's great for me, plenty of space (less then others but for the weight). The zipper is not the best, the TNF sticker is peeling off. If you need a good sleeping bag, it'll work great. If you want the best, try the Helium.
HighTail 900 Sleeping Bag
Pros: This sleeping bag is extremely lightweight, packs down pretty small, and kept me very warm at 5400ft (and at around 30F). The foot vent works great as well. As soon as I got a little warm, I unzipped it and it let out just enough heat that I never had to rezip it. Cons: The zipper is only a 1/3 zipper making a little harder to get into the bag, but it's not too bad. I would have at least liked the option to open the bag up all the way to air it out. My biggest problem with the bag is that it is very puffy around all of the zippers. I understand this is too keep me extra warm, but on my first trip alone I got the zipper stuck on the fabric three times. You have to be very careful when using the zippers, or you could catch the fabric and end up tearing it. Overall, if you are careful with the bag (which you should be anyway with a spendy bag), it is an excellent choice for lightweight 3-season backpacking. -JF
personal preference
great color(orange and red). zipper at feet allows one to more comfort in those warmer nights. But personally I like zipper all the way along the side to foot.
