The North Face Ultra 103 XCR trail running shoes for Men are part or TNF's Flight Series of high-end, fast and light products. They're made for trail running but sturdy enough to use for fastpacking with an ultralight backpack. They have a full TPU shank to protect your feet and their two-tier lacing system paired with an ergonomic footbed make for a custom fit. Gore-Tex XCR makes them waterproof and they're set up to accept TNF's Scree Gaiter if you need additional protection from the elements. The X2-O2 heel air cushion is a shock absorbing air bag for the ultimate foot and joint protection. If you sized up ½ size in the past when you bought TNF's shoes, you don't need to anymore. Worth the money
Normally I'm the kind of guy who doesnt spend more than $40-$50 on a new pair of shoes, usually some NB's from Kohls or something, but man am I glad I went ahead and dropped the dough on these babies. I LOVE these shoes. Very comfortable, very good looking, very sturdy. Maybe my favorite thing about them is the treatment they put on the inside that prevents them from smelling too bad. I bet you could wear them barefoot without to much fear of smelling them up to much. Great Shoes!


Excellent Fit
I planned to purchase The North Face Men's Ultra Gore-Tex XCR shoes, but the design made them uncomfortable on my high arched feet. The Ultra 103 XCR, however, fit perfectly and feels great! Besides, if you can find the black ones, the look cool too!


Substantial and True Sized Shoe
Happy to receive the trail shoes promptly. I was surprised to find them true to size even when the website noted that it was unnecessary to size up a size and that the shoes were now true to size. Many size 13's for me are tight so I ordered 14 and it is even a bit too large for me. I wanted a "second day" shoe for when my feet are swollen during ultra races, so I will keep the larger size and try it with extra socks. I found it very easy to lace up with easy entry.


Best Gore-Tex trail runners
I tend to buy Gore-Tex trail runners that I can use for multi-sport activities (running, hiking, biking) in all types of weather and the TNF Ultra 103 XCR is the best of all the ones that I've had in terms of design, function, and fit. I previously had the TNF Ultra Gore-Tex XCR for two years and the Montrail Java GTX for the two years before that. These shoes fit a little looser, feel sturdier, and has a better tongue design and fit than the Ultra Gore-Tex XCR. They are even comfortable and light enough for road running. I plan on using these train runners for an upcoming half marathon. They even look great with jeans or khakis. I highly recommend the Ultra 103 XCR!


Great shoe!
If you are looking for a sneaker then the Ultra 103 XCR is not what you want. This is a tough trail shoe that can do up to a 25lb pack with no problem. These shoes are tough. No wimpy trail runner here. Worth every penny. Very sturdy for a trail runner.
