SmartWool Lightweight Bottom - Women's
Brand : SmartWoolItem : SWL0042
Wear the SmartWool Women's Lightweight Bottom for cool-weather aerobic activities or as a next-to-skin base layer. Sweat cools you through evaporation. SmartWool's porous natural fibers move moisture in vapor form, creating a dry layer of air around your body that encourages evaporative cooling; you stay drier and more comfortable throughout your entire workout. By comparison, synthetics transport moisture in liquid form, wicking sweat before it evaporates, which means your skin never directly benefits from evaporative cooling. SmartWool fiber is also highly adaptable to a broad range of conditions; it keeps you warm when you rest and cool when you're active. This naturally anti-microbial pant features a covered elastic waistband, chafe-reducing flatlock seams, and an active fit that allows for bulk-free layering without inhibiting your freedom of movement.

SmartWool Lightweight Bottom - Women's
Light and Warm
These pants are both light and warm. In the winter I wear them under my jeans when I know I'll be outside for a bit and they keep me toasty! I've also worn them under my ski pants and they regulate my temperature perfectly. As a naturally cold person, they keep me surprisingly warm for how light they are. But at the same time, they don't overheat when it's a tad bit warmer. They are pretty thin and I actually tore a hole in them when I was pulling them on one morning - so be careful. Otherwise they are a wise investment.
Smart wool women's long johns
I am usually allergic to wool, but thought I would give smart wool a try as I needed something for this winter weather. I am happy to report that it is truly a no-itch material that is toasty warm. Also machine washes well. Highly recommended.
Smart Wool is a Smart Choice
The Smart Wool lightweight long underwear bottom was indeed a smart choice for me. I used it paired with the lightweight Smart Wool top on a cross country ski outing. I wore these layers under my Gore-tex pants, a wool sweater, and a Gore-tex Jacket. I was warm, but not too warm. It was about 20 degrees that day. I couldn't get over how light weight they felt and very soft against my skin. I would highly recommend them to anyone who wants a pair of long underwear. They are a little pricey, but worth the cost.
