Another great Patagonia product!
It's perfect for skinning out to hit backcountry lines. Plenty flexible for cool weather boulder and climbing. Should make a great jacket for climbing ice. Paired up with a form fitting fleece or vest it works great for chilly days but be ready with a hard shell when the winds pick up and the temps drop. For sizing, I'm 6 ft 155 lbs and the MD is the perfect size for a trim fit and just enough room to wear over a monkey man fleece.


Thin Breathable softshell
This is a great example of the newer softshells that put a premium on breathability over insulation. This is a thin polyester shell that stretches due to the weave of the fabric, not from added spandex. It's is easy to add insulation. Patagonia has also used fused seams (CSS Technology) so the jacket is lighter, and more water resistant. Chose the Ready Mix jacket if you want a hood. Full zip makes it easy to vent, and the side pockets are meshed for additional venting. High collar with drawcord seals the neck nicely.

I haven't tested this jacket yet. Fit seems to be great and i like the fact that the liner zips out. I bought it to use it this August in Portillo Chile then a hike to Machu Pichu before I return to the states. I usually wear an XL and that was the correct size with this jacket. Who knows what kind of conditions I will hit in the Andes, I am sure this jacket will work well in whatever conditions we get! More info after the trip!
