Wash that coat! Dirt is your water proofer's worst enemy. Your outfit will last longer and perform better if you wash it often. Wash with Nik wax tech wash then follow up with this spray on. I have used this product many times with great results. I usually end up spraying and then rubbing the jacket to get an even covering, then throwing it in the dryer on a low heat.
Good Stuff!! But try this..........
On a Mountain Hardware down vest, I found that the this product works most effectively if applied in 2 - 3 light coats and allowed to dry thoroughly between coats. Drying time is usually less than an hour if sprayed lightly and evenly and allowed to hang in a ventilated area with reasonably low humidity. (My den worked out fine, with coats applied between a couple of TV programs.) I'd be inclined to rate it higher than a 5, but I want to test the durability of the product.......if it continues to work as well as the immediate application over a period of time, I'll repost the review. As most of the stuff from BackCountry, this appears to be a quality product.
No more wet spots !
This stuff is great! Great way to bring back the waterproofing on your favorite waterproof breathable outerwear. The best results I have had so far were by washing my jacket and pants (NO FABRIC SOFTENER, it clogs up the breathability in the fabric). After the rinse cycle is finished I take the jacket and pants up to the bathroom and hang them up in the shower and spray them both evenly with the direct spray and let them hang dry overnight. The next morning toss them in the dryer on low heat for 20 minutes and they will bead water again like they are brand new. Definitely worth the $8 bucks and the bottle is still half full after using it 5 times this season.
