Best Hiking Shoe Ever Used
These shoes are the best hiking shoes I have ever worn. When an off-road adventure through a field turned into a the jeep getting stuck in a swamp I stepped out to help push and I was the only one to walk away with warm, dry feet. Yea Gortex! Another day a last minute decision to do some rock climbing in Garden of the Gods and these shoes did great double duty as climbing shoes....thats unheard of for a hiking shoe. GO MONTRAIL. Keep up the good work cause girls love mud too!


Montrail Java GTX
Great shoes! They took a few miles to break in, but even that was a piece of cake. Part of my run is on pavement and I was worried these shoes would leave me with achy knees but so far so good! They're so terrific I ended up buying another pair! They have excellent traction and a cool lace-up design. I highly recommend them.

These shoes are absolutely wonderful. They are tough and comfortable all in one. They are perfect for hiking or any outdoor activity. The waterproof Gore-Tex is just another added bonus! I highly suggest these if you are looking for a great outdoor shoe!


JAVA GTX hiking shoes
These hiking shoes are great - waterproof, comfortable and light weight. My best friend saw them and immediately ordered a pair, too. I especially like the way the inside is made - like a bootie instead of a full shoe tongue. I have had several pairs of Montrails and these are tops!


Java-licious!
I bought this shoe with many miles of day hikes in mind and these Montrail pair, just like the Hurricanes I own, delivered more than what I expected. The soles are VERY sturdy without feeling heavy and bulky. It provides not only superior heel support but an equally great traction on mud, gravel and even snow. I'm very clumsy and often bump and hit my toes against rocks and tree stumps, these Java pair have me covered! They supplies excellent toe protection without the crushing feel on my little piggies. The waterproofing quality of this shoe withstood hours of frolicking with our dog at a local shoreline park. I've also taken them on many snowshoeing hikes. Just pair them with gaiters and you're all set for some play time in slush and/or snow. Looking for ankle support? You obviously should not get the Java or any low-cut shoe for that matter. However, if searching for a day hiking or light backpacking shoe that gives incredible sole support and offer great waterproofing - Java delivers, with style at that!
