Compressor PL Jacket
The Compressor PL Jacket is an excellent insulating layer: well-constructed, lightweight, aesthetically pleasing. It clearly is not as warm as down, but its minimal bulk (nice for layering under a hardshell) and "packablity" make it a reasonable alternative. The jacket is typical of Mountain Hardwear products—superior in design and quality.
Compressor PL Jacket...The best
Mountain Hardwear has done it again. The compressor PL jacket is the best top layer or under layer for a ski day. Packs down into the smallest pocket of my backpack and is not a bulky under layer. The weight and size keep you warm on the coldest windiest wildest ski days while hitting up Vail's Back Bowls. Doesn’t absorb to much odor and breaths. Love this jacket.
Best Jacket out there!
This jacket is one of the greatest jackets ever made. I bought one for my husband for Christmas. We live in a Minnesota and it was a little light for the below zero temps, but my husband wore it anyway. I kept borrowing it so often that I bought one too. Then we bought one for my dad. My dad uses his for his weeklong Canadian fishing trips. It is super lightweight and keeps you warm like you're in a sleeping bag. I wore mine all through the spring for outdoor jaunts with the dog. My husband has worn it for hockey, broomball, etc. The only drawback is that it doesn't have any pitzips for super sweaty sports like hockey. I've used it skiing as well, for days that are a little warmer.
Comfy but shiny
Great jacket very comfortable. I originally purchased it as insulation for skiing on really cold days. The material is a little too shiny for my liking but I'll get over it

This jacket is the warmest and lightest jacket I've ever owned! It is well made and thought out. The double sided zipper on the right hand pocket allows you to stuff the jacket into the pocket and zip it up. No need for a stuff sack.
