Tale of the XMas Vest ...
I ordered the SSV Thanksgiving weekend. It arrived about a week and a half later. The fit was too big, so I had to send it back and reorder a smaller size. I was not pleased because before I placed the order I questioned a service rep online on size and was assured that I needed to order a medium because of my chest measurements. These vests run big and Backcountry should know that. I waited for my new vest to arrive and wanted to wear it to go to London on 12/23 over the holidays. Dec 20 I still had no vest, so I called Backcountry and was told they could get me the vest but I would have to split the shipping charge for overnight service. I finally got the vest on Fri Dec 22 and shipping charges because I ordered the right size according to the Backcountry sizing chart. One other thing, in the picture this vest is made to look fitted to the body; quite contrary, it is your basic puffer vest, you know the chubby look! This vest is misrepresented online on size and style.


Seven sisters vest
Bought a seven sisters vest for my girlfriend and she would not take it off for days, even in the house! It has many feminine design features: the very stylish cut and lines which look excellent with her jeans; the subtle contrasting starred strip just inside the zipper that is not obvious in the picture; the soft taffeta material. And its all machine washable which was not stated on the literature but is very important. Nothing remotely like this in the UK.


A well-constructed vest with good lines; bulky fit
I love the lines of this vest; they are very flattering. The starred detailing around the zipper, hidden inner pockets, and a great hand-feel all add to the quality of this vest. However, the fit is really, really big and bulky. I ordered the smallest size, and it's still much too large (I typically wear a size 4/6). If you plan to wear this vest as an outer layer, the bulkiness won't be a big deal. However, if you're looking for something that fits a little more snug, either order WAY down in size, or find another vest. I was sad to return this one, as I loved everything else about it. Almost perfect.
